Co-CIO
Michael J. Simon, CFA

Michael brings a rare combination of deep fundamental analysis and entrepreneurial
instinct to his role as Co-CIO. He and Robert first worked together at Luther King
Capital Management in the mid-1990s, and after years of parallel careers in investment
management, reunited at Holt CIO in 2016.
Michael spent nearly a decade as Senior Portfolio Manager and Global Partner at Invesco,
where he was a leader of a top-performing value equity team and became a recognized
voice on financial sector analysis — presenting to senior leadership at JP Morgan and
Bank of America, among others. He later founded Simon Venture Development, providing
strategic capital consulting to early-stage companies and their investors. Michael has
extensive board experience. He serves on the Investment Committee of the Susan G. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation and as Trustee and Audit Committee Chair for the Oberweis Funds.

Michael holds an MBA with high honors from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business — where he is an Amy and Richard F. Wallman Scholar — and a BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society of Houston
